Pune University has this office at 503 Vijayant A Apartment on Gandevi Road in Navsari. It is a bit strange for some people to find since it is inside a residential building, but once you get up to the fifth floor, it’s just a regular office space. We handle a lot of the paperwork and student inquiries for the area. The rooms are filled with steel cupboards and stacks of files that seem to grow every week. From the window, you can see the traffic moving along Gandevi Road, which gets pretty noisy during the rush hours. We spend a lot of time answering the same questions about exams and forms, but that’s just the nature of the job. It is mostly quiet inside the apartment though, except for the sound of the printer going or someone shuffling through folders. We have a small kettle in the corner for making tea, and that’s basically our break area. The balcony has a few potted plants that aren't doing so well because of the heat, but they add a bit of green to the place. It’s not like a big campus with trees and grass; it’s a practical spot for people in Navsari to get their university business sorted without traveling too far. Most of us have lived in this town for years, so we know the shortcuts and the best places to get lunch nearby. Sometimes the elevator in the building acts up, and we have to walk.
