Chintamani Immitation Jewellers

Chintamani Immitation Jewellers is our small shop in Mota Bazar. If you are looking for us, we are right across from Anupam Store. Praful the tailor is our neighbor, and Bhikha Bhajiya is right next door. The smell of frying bhajiyas comes into the shop all afternoon, which makes us hungry all the time. We sell all kinds of imitation jewelry, the shiny stuff people like for weddings or just everyday wear. It’s a small space, so things can get a bit cluttered when a few customers come in at once. We spend a lot of time arranging the necklaces and earrings in the glass boxes. Sometimes the lights go out in the market and we have to use the torch until the power comes back. It’s a busy street with lots of people walking by. We know most of the other shopkeepers around here. It feels like a little community. We open the shutters early in the morning and stay until late evening when the market starts to quiet down. People come in asking for specific designs they saw somewhere, and we try to find something similar in our stock. It’s not a corporate store. It’s just us. We deal with the regular crowd, show them the pieces, and talk about the weather or the local news while they decide. That is just how the day goes at the shop. We like the bustle of Mota Bazar and the familiar faces that pass by every day.
