Bigri Primary School

Our school is right on Main Street here in Gandevi. Being on the main road means everyone knows where we are, though it can get a bit loud with the traffic passing by. It’s a primary school, so we deal with the little ones from the local area in Navsari. The building is an old one, solid and simple. We have a few rooms where the classes happen. Usually, things start around 8 in the morning. The kids come in from the nearby houses and farms. We spend the day going through the textbooks and practicing writing. There is a small area out back where they can play during the lunch hour. It’s nothing fancy, just a regular school for regular families. Sometimes the heat gets a bit much in the afternoons, but we have fans in the rooms. We’ve had generations of families come through these doors. You can see the history in the worn-down steps. We don't have a lot of high-tech equipment, just the basics that have worked for years. The teachers are mostly from around this part of Navsari. It’s a practical place. We focus on the primary basics. When the final bell rings, the street gets busy with kids heading home. It’s just how life goes here in Gandevi. We have the usual chalk dust and the sound of desks dragging across the floor. It's a busy environment but we're used to it. Most people in the neighborhood have been coming here for years and years.
