Allied Movers

Being up in U 16 at City Tower means we see a lot of people coming and going. Allied Movers has been in Kaliyawadi for some time now. Moving is a messy job, really. There are always too many boxes and never enough tape. We spend most of our mornings loading up trucks and trying to find parking in this crowded area. The City Tower location is okay, though the elevators can be a bit slow when you’re carrying heavy furniture. We just handle the packing and the heavy lifting for folks moving house or shifting offices. It’s physical work. My back hurts most evenings but that is part of the deal. We try to be careful with the glass stuff, but things happen when you’re moving an entire life from one street to another. Kaliyawadi is always busy, so we have to plan our routes around the traffic. We aren't a huge corporation or anything. Just a small team with a couple of trucks. Sometimes people lose their keys in the middle of a move and we have to wait around. We just sit on the tailboard and chat. It’s not a glamorous life but it pays the bills. We've moved families who have been here for decades. You get to see a lot of different houses this way. Some are clean, some are a disaster. We just move the boxes regardless of how the house looks.
