Our place is out in the MIDC area of Rabale, specifically at R-270. Being on the Thane-Belapur Road means we see a lot of traffic every single day. It is a big industrial belt, and Skan Skanan Hardware has been a part of it for some time now. The building is a typical industrial setup. We have heavy hardware items stored all over the place. It gets quite dusty with the wind blowing off the main road, but that is just part of the environment here. Most mornings involve checking the stock and seeing what needs to be moved out. The staff here is small, just a few of us who know the inventory inside out. We don't have a fancy lobby or reception area. You just walk in and you are right there in the middle of everything. We spend a lot of time on our feet, moving boxes or talking to the drivers. The heat in Rabale can be a bit much during the summer months, so we usually take a longish break in the afternoon when things slow down. It is a practical business. We focus on the hardware and making sure we have what people are asking for. No one here wears a suit. We are usually in work clothes because things can get a bit greasy. It is a solid, everyday routine that keeps us going from Monday to Saturday.
