Our factory is out in the T.T.C. Industrial Area in Rabale, specifically at Plot No. R-649. Silverline Metal Engineering Pvt. Ltd. is right in the middle of a lot of other industrial sheds and warehouses. It’s a wide-open area compared to the city, but it’s always busy with trucks and tempos moving metal around. The building is a large shed where we do all the engineering and fabrication. It gets very loud inside when the machines are cutting and bending metal. We don't have a fancy office upstairs; it’s just a small partitioned area with a few desks and a computer for the accounts. Most of our day is spent on the shop floor, making sure the measurements are right and the machines are running properly. It’s a gritty environment with metal shavings on the floor and the smell of welding smoke. We don't have any marketing people or a sales team in fancy cars. It’s just us and the workers getting the metal ready for the next project. Lunch is usually eaten in a small corner near the main door where there's a bit of a breeze. We’ve been in Rabale for a long time and have seen the industrial area grow up around us. It’s hard work and it’s often hot, but the metal pieces usually get finished on time. We just keep our heads down and do the engineering work, year after year.
