Nalini'S Boutique

We’ve been here at B-214-3 in Millennium Tower for a good while now. Sector 9 in Sanpada is usually busy, especially in the mornings when everyone is heading out to work. The shop isn't huge, but it fits everything we need for the boutique. You’ll mostly find us sitting among the rolls of fabric and half-finished pieces of clothing that need to be picked up. Sometimes the sewing machines get a bit loud, and we have to raise our voices to hear each other over the clatter. We spend a lot of time just measuring things out and checking the stitching on the hemlines to make sure nothing is loose. There’s usually a pile of scraps in the corner that we clear out every couple of days. People from the building often pop their heads in just to say hello or ask about a repair they left with us last week. It’s a lot of sitting and focusing on the small details, which can get tiring on the eyes after a few hours of work. We keep a small kettle in the back for tea because the afternoons can get long when there’s a lot of work to finish. The light in this part of the tower is okay during the day, but we had to add a few extra lamps for when it gets dark early in the winter. It’s just how we spend our days here, surrounded by needles, thread, and the noise of the street outside. Nothing fancy, just a lot of work getting done one stitch at a time and hoping the customer likes it.
