We have been running the workshop in Madambakkam for quite some time now. It is a busy little spot in Brindavan Nagar where the noise of the machines is pretty much constant. We focus on making different metal parts, mostly for other businesses around Chennai that need specific pieces for their own equipment. The machines run for most of the day, and it gets a bit loud and dusty, but that is just how the work goes. We do not have a fancy office or any big corporate setup. It is just the shop floor and a bit of space where we keep the finished pieces before they get picked up. A few of us work here and we know our way around the lathes and the grinders by now. Sometimes the orders come in fast and we have to put in extra hours, and other times it stays steady. We spend a lot of time checking the specs on the drawings because if a part is not exactly right, it is basically useless. Most people find us at number 60, tucked away a bit, but the delivery trucks manage the turn just fine. We have seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years. We stay busy with local orders for the most part. If you come by, you will likely see us with a bit of grease on our clothes. That is just part of the job here in Chennai.
