I Ahmed & Co

Working out of the APMC market in Vashi is something else. It is always loud and there is always someone shouting or a truck backing up. Our plots at Mafco are right in the thick of it. We spend most of our mornings dealing with deliveries and making sure the crates are stacked right. It is a lot of physical work, and the clothes usually end up dirty by noon. That is just part of being in I Ahmed & Co. We aren't here to look pretty; we are here to move goods. The market has its own rhythm, and you have to keep up or you get left behind. We have seen a lot of businesses come and go in Vashi over the years, but we have stuck it out. Our space is functional and big enough for what we need. There is no air conditioning or soft chairs, just the smell of the market and the sound of trade. We talk to the loaders, the drivers, and the other traders every single day. It is a community of sorts, even if everyone is busy. We keep our records in ledgers and try to stay organized, but sometimes it is a bit of a scramble when a big shipment arrives unexpectedly. We don't have a marketing department. We just have our reputation and the people who have known us for years. It is hard work, but it is what we do day in and day out.
