H.K.Accessories Corpn. is situated at Plot No.A/270 in the TTC Industrial Area of MIDC, Mahape. Being out here on the Thane Belapur Road means we are right in the middle of a lot of heavy industry. The plot we have is a decent size, and we’ve filled most of it with our storage and the work floor. It is a very industrial atmosphere, with a lot of heavy lifting and the sound of loaders moving things around. We deal with a lot of small parts and accessories, so there are boxes stacked almost to the ceiling in some parts of the warehouse. The lighting isn't the brightest, and the floors are concrete that’s seen a lot of wear over the years. We don’t have a marketing team or anyone to answer the phones with a script; usually, it’s just one of us wiping grease off our hands to pick up the line. The commute for the workers can be long, so we try to keep a regular schedule so everyone can get home on time. We have a small corner where we keep a kettle for tea, and that’s about as much of a break room as we have. Most of the day is spent checking the inventory and making sure the orders match what’s going out on the lorries. It’s a straightforward way to earn a living, and we just keep at it day after day.
