Fruit Mandi

Operating out of the APMC Fruit Market in Sanpada is a whole different world compared to a regular office job. Fruit Mandi starts very early in the morning, often while most of the city is still asleep. The market is a massive place, and we are right in the thick of it. There are trucks coming in from all over the country, and the noise is constant—shouting, horns, and the sound of wooden crates being stacked. Our space is filled with the smell of whatever is in season, like mangoes in the summer or oranges in the winter. It’s a messy, fast-paced environment where you have to be quick on your feet. We spend our time checking the quality of the fruit and making sure things get moved to where they need to go. Sanpada is a great location for this because it’s so well-connected, but the traffic around the market can be a real headache. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing department. Our business is built on being here every single morning and knowing our produce. The floor is usually wet from the cleaning or the ice, and we all wear sturdy boots to get around. It’s hard work, and your back usually hurts by noon, but it’s an honest way to live. We’ve been part of the APMC community for years now and wouldn't really know what to do with ourselves if we had to work in a quiet building.
