Emphasis English School

Emphasis English School sits on Plot No 121 in Ghansoli, Navi Mumbai. It’s one of those buildings that looks like everything else in the neighborhood. You walk past a lot of small shops and houses to get here. The school itself is mostly just rooms filled with desks and chairs that have been moved around a thousand times. We focus on English here because that’s what people in Ghansoli are looking for. The classes can get a bit cramped when everyone shows up at once, especially in the evenings when the older students come by. The ceiling fans make a lot of noise, but you need them in the Mumbai humidity. We don’t have a big playground or anything like that, just the space inside the plot. Sometimes we have to remind the students to keep their voices down so we don’t bother the neighbors too much. The teachers are usually busy marking papers in the small corner we use as an office. It’s a very practical place. We don’t spend money on fancy signs or decorations. Instead, we just make sure there are enough chalks and the whiteboards are clean. The stairs are narrow, and it gets a bit crowded during the change of classes. It’s just a local school trying to help people learn a bit more so they can find better jobs or get through their exams.
