Our building is at Plot No. El-140/141 in the MIDC area of Mahape. It is a bit of a drive to get out here but the space is much better than being in the city. Since we work with optics, we have to try and keep the dust down which is a constant battle in an industrial zone. We spend a lot of our time hunched over workbenches with magnifying lamps. The place is quieter than a lot of other factories because the work requires a bit of focus. We have these big heavy tables that don't vibrate so the lenses stay still while we check them. Most of us wear white coats but they aren't always as white as they should be. We eat our lunch in a small breakroom that looks out over the other plots in Mahape. It is a lot of staring through glass and checking for tiny scratches that most people wouldn't even see. The machines we use have a low hum that you stop noticing after the first hour. We aren't some big global giant. We are just a group of people who know a lot about glass and light. Sometimes a shipment gets delayed or a machine breaks down and we just have to deal with it. We have been in this spot for a while and we have a good rhythm going.
