We've been here at F-20 for quite some time now. Vashi is always crowded especially in the mornings when the trucks come in. Our spot is right in the middle of APMC Market-I. It gets noisy and there's always someone moving crates or shouting out prices. We just keep our heads down and handle the paperwork and the stocks as they arrive. My father used to say the market never sleeps and he was right about that. We open up pretty early before most of the city even wakes up. The air smells like dust and diesel from the Phase-II traffic. It’s not a fancy office, just some desks and old cupboards full of files we’ve kept for years. Sometimes the tea man comes by twice an hour and that's usually the highlight of a busy Tuesday. We don't have a big sign or anything, just the name on the door and people know where to find us. Dealing with the porters and the drivers takes up most of our energy. We try to keep things organized but in a place like Sector 19, things just happen when they happen. It’s a lot of manual work and checking lists over and over. We’ve seen the market change over the years, more buildings going up nearby, but our little corner stays pretty much the same. Most days it’s just about getting through the orders and making sure the loaders don't mix anything up. It's a rough life but it's our life.
