Square Garments

Square Garments is located at Sai Siddhi Apartment No. 301 Sector-14 Plot No. H- 9 Cbd Belapur. It’s a bit different being in an apartment building rather than a traditional factory floor. We are up on the third floor in room 301, so we get to see the rooftops of Belapur. It’s a bit of a climb if the elevator is acting up, which happens once in a while during the monsoon. Being in CBD Belapur is convenient for getting around though. We have a lot of windows in this unit, so we get a good amount of natural light on the cutting tables during the day. It’s mostly quiet in the building, which is nice compared to the street noise down in Sector-14. We have sewing machines set up along one wall and the rest of the space is taken up by rolls of fabric and finished garments waiting to go out. We’ve had to be very smart about how we use the space because it’s not a huge area for a garment business. We use the small kitchen area for storing buttons and zippers instead of making food. Usually, we just order something from the small cafes downstairs. It’s a focused environment here with no distractions. No one is wearing a suit or trying to look important. We are usually just in our everyday clothes, covered in bits of thread. It’s our little corner of Belapur where we work.
