R. K. Bricks

Our place is in Upli Oden, right over in Nathdwara. We’re situated quite close to the RK Petrol Pump, which makes it easy for people to find us when they’re driving through that part of town. We have been making and selling bricks here for quite a while now. It’s a dusty, outdoor kind of job, and we spend most of our time out in the yard under the sky. The sun can be pretty intense in this part of the country, but the work has to get done regardless. We have rows and rows of bricks waiting to be picked up by customers. Local contractors and people building their own homes are our usual customers. They know they can just pull in and talk to us directly without any appointment. We don’t have a fancy showroom or a secretary; you usually just find one of us near the kiln or the loading area. Sometimes we’re short on help and things move a little slower than we'd like, but we always try to get the orders ready on time. It is hard work, and your back definitely feels it after a long day of stacking bricks onto a truck. We keep things pretty informal. If someone needs bricks for a boundary wall or a new room for their house, we show them what we have and go from there. Being near the petrol pump is handy for the delivery trucks that need fuel. It’s just a regular local business trying to do things right for the community here.
