Our factory and office are located at 78-A in the MIDC area of Satpur, over in Nashik. It’s a large industrial zone, so we are surrounded by other plants and workshops. This is where we put together a lot of the luggage and bags that people use for their travels. The place is big and can be quite noisy when the machines are all running at once. We’ve got a lot of people working on the floor, and the rhythm of the place is something you feel in your feet. It’s a busy environment where we’re always trying to keep up with the schedules. Nashik is a good place to be based, even if it gets a bit quiet in the evenings compared to Mumbai. We have our own canteen where everyone grabs a bite, and that’s usually where we hear all the local news. The office part of the building is pretty basic. We have some desks for the managers and the clerks who handle the shipping papers for the trucks. It’s not the kind of place where you’d see people wearing suits every day. Most of us are in work clothes because we’re often out on the floor checking on the production lines. We’ve been part of the Satpur community for a long time now. We just keep our heads down, watch the assembly lines, and make sure the suitcases are built right before they go onto the trucks.
