The Methiyadi Stop

The Methiyadi Stop is up on the first floor of the City Centre Mall in Lawate Nagar. We are in units Sfs 5 and 6, right on Untwadi Road. Being in a mall is a bit different from having a street-side shop. You have the mall music playing all day and people wandering in while they wait for a movie to start. We mostly have those traditional-style rubber sandals that everyone knows. They come in so many colors that the shelves look like a rainbow sometimes. It’s a simple product, really. People come in, try a few pairs on, and chat for a bit. We don't have a huge staff, just a couple of us who know the sizes and the styles well. The mall gets really crowded on weekends, especially being near Lawate Nagar, so those days are pretty long. Sometimes we run out of the popular sizes and have to wait for the next shipment from the factory. It’s just part of the job. We keep the place clean and try to make sure everyone finds something they like. It’s a nice enough way to spend the day, even if your feet get tired from standing on the mall floor for hours. The glass door always has fingerprints on it from kids running in and out, and the rug near the entrance is getting a bit frayed at the edges. We just go with the flow of the mall crowd every single day.
