Subhash Chandra Pareek

This is our small business in Yeola, which is in the Nashik district. We are located in Madhali Galli, which is one of those traditional streets where everyone knows their neighbors. The name on the board is Subhash Chandra Pareek, and we have been part of this community for a long time. Our shop doesn't look like much from the outside, just a simple entrance with a wooden counter where we stand most of the day. We deal in general goods and things people need for their homes in this part of Nasik. The street outside is usually busy with people walking by and the occasional bullock cart or tractor, especially during the harvest season. Inside, the shop has that old-fashioned smell of grain and dried goods. We don't have any computers here; we still do all our calculations by hand or with a small calculator. It’s a bit slower than the big city shops, but people here don't seem to mind. They stop to talk about the weather or the local news while we wrap up their purchases in paper or plastic bags. The light inside the shop is a bit dim, and the walls have some marks on them from years of moving stock around. It’s a humble place, and we are quite content just serving the folks who live around Madhali Galli. It’s just how things have always been for us here in the district.
