Out here in Jopul, things move a bit slower than they do in the big cities like Mumbai. We’re located at House No. 57, right in the village area of Chandwad. Sthiti Organic Foods Llp is basically run from here. It’s not a big factory or a shiny office, just a practical space where we handle the food products we work with every day. Nashik weather is usually decent for this kind of thing, though it gets quite dusty in the dry months. We spend a lot of time talking to local growers and checking on the quality of what comes in from the fields. Being in a small place like Jopul means everyone knows everyone else, so we have to be careful about what we do. Our days start early, usually before the sun is fully up, just to beat the heat. There’s a lot of sorting, cleaning, and packing involved. We don't have fancy machinery doing everything; a lot of it is just hands-on work by the people here. We keep our records in old notebooks and try to keep the storage area tidy and dry. It’s hard work and your back usually hurts by the end of the week. We just wanted to have a business that made sense for where we live. There’s no big marketing team here, just a few of us making sure the bags are filled and the orders are ready to go out to the taluka. We just take things one day at a time.
