Shivlaxmi Education Foundation

We started Shivlaxmi Education Foundation because we saw kids in Ahmednagar needed more help with their studies. Our place is over at Vasant Market on K G Road in Akole. It is not a fancy office, just a practical space where we get things done. People around here know us as neighbors who care about the local schools. Sometimes the lights flicker but we keep working. We handle a lot of paperwork and talk to parents about what their children need for the next term. It is mostly just us sitting around a wooden table figuring out how to get books to the right places. We have been here for a while now and most folks in the 422601 area have walked past our door at least once. It gets dusty being near the market but that is just how it is. We do not have a big staff, just a few of us who grew up in this district and wanted to stay. Every morning we open up the shutters and start the day with some tea and a list of tasks. We are not trying to change the whole world, just making sure the kids in our corner of Maharashtra have what they need to get through their exams. If you are walking by Vasant Market, you will see our sign. It is a bit weathered now but we are still there. We spend our afternoons planning and making calls. It is quiet work but it fills our days.
