Sarwapashu Kalyan Foundation

In the Mhasrul area of Nashik, you will find the Sarwapashu Kalyan Foundation at Row House Number 2 in the Omkar Society. It’s a typical residential neighborhood where people know their neighbors and kids play in the lanes. We chose to work from here because we wanted to be right where the animals are. Nashik has grown a lot, and places like Mhasrul have seen a lot of new construction, which often leaves local animals with nowhere to go. Our foundation is basically run out of this row house. We keep some basic medical supplies on hand and have a small area for animals that need to be kept quiet for a few days. It isn't a professional hospital, but we do what we can with what we have. Most of our day is spent answering calls from people who have found an injured cow or a bird that fell from a tree. We have a small van that we use to get around, though it breaks down more often than we would like. The rainy season is usually our busiest time because of all the infections and accidents that happen on the wet roads. We don't have any big corporate donors or a marketing team. It is just us, some old blankets, and a lot of heart for the animals in our town.
