Threads Fabrica

Threads Fabrica is sitting at Shop No 4 in Rushiraj Avenue. We are right near Somaiya Hardware, which is a big landmark here at Canada Corner. It's funny because our address actually lists being near Somaiya Hardware twice, once for the shop and once for the general area. People usually find us by looking for that hardware shop first. Our shop is small, but we cram a lot into it. We have rolls of fabric and various types of thread lined up on the shelves. It’s a bit of a squeeze when we get more than two customers in at once. Canada Corner is a busy part of town, so there’s always something happening outside the door. We spend our days measuring out lengths of cloth and helping people match colors for their sewing projects. It’s a lot of squinting at small labels and trying to keep the dust off the darker fabrics. We don’t have a big corporate structure; it’s just me and a helper most days. Sometimes the shipments from the mills come in late, and we have to apologize to the tailors who are waiting for their orders. That’s just how the textile business goes sometimes. We’ve been at Rushiraj Avenue for a while now, and we know most of the other shopkeepers around here. It’s a nice community feeling even when things are hectic. We don't do any big fancy displays, just the stock on the shelves and a counter where we do the cutting. It’s simple and it works for us every day.
