Researcher

I am based out in Shilapur, which is near the Odha post in the Nashik district of Maharashtra. My work as a researcher is done mostly right here in this local area. It is a very different atmosphere compared to working in a city like Mumbai or even the main part of Nashik. Out here, things move a bit slower, which is actually quite good for the kind of work I do. I don't have a big office or a team of people. It is just me and my tools and the notes I take while I am out in the field. My workspace is a simple room with enough space for my laptop and some reference books. The neighbors are mostly farmers and local families, and they are used to seeing me around. Sometimes they ask what I am looking for, and I try to explain it simply. Research is about observing things over a long period, so I spend a lot of time just watching and recording data. It isn't a glamorous job and there are no big rewards most days. It is just about being patient and trying to understand things a little better. I like the peace I get here in the village. It allows me to focus without all the distractions of city life. It is just a quiet, practical way of working and living in the countryside.
