Our office is Row House number 2 in the Dynasty Co-operative Society. It is tucked away right behind Bytco College, not too far from the Nashik Road area. It’s a residential society, so it’s usually pretty peaceful compared to the main road. We like being in a row house because it feels more like a home than a stiff office. There is a small porch out front where we keep a few plants, though they don't always look their best in the summer heat. Inside, we’ve turned the living room into the main work area. We have desks pushed up against the walls and a lot of folders stacked on the floor. People from the college or the nearby houses walk past our gate all day. Since we are near Nashik Road, we can sometimes hear the trains in the distance when the wind is right. It’s a simple setup with just the basic stuff we need to get our work done. We’ve been in this society for a while now, so the neighbors are used to us being here. It’s not a place for big meetings or anything corporate, just a small group of us handling the daily tasks. The kitchen in the back is where we make our tea and take short breaks. It gets a little dark in the rooms during the monsoon, so we have to keep the lights on all day then.
