Advance Pesticides

Advance Pesticides is located at Somnath Park on Peth Road, right near Dindori Naka. It’s a good spot because a lot of people pass by on their way to the markets. Our shop and office are combined into one space, so you can smell the products as soon as you walk in. It’s not a bad smell, just that earthy, chemical scent of stuff that helps keep the bugs away. We have shelves lined with bottles and bags, and a counter where we talk to the farmers who stop by. We’ve been here a long time, so we know most of the people who come in by their first names. We don’t do any of that high-pressure selling. If a guy has a problem with his crops, we just listen and suggest what might work based on what others have said. Sometimes the shop gets dusty because of the road outside, so we’re always wiping things down. It’s a basic setup with a desk in the back where we keep the books. We don’t have air conditioning, so we keep the doors open and use a big ceiling fan that wobbles a bit. It’s a bit noisy with the trucks going past, but we’re used to it. We just try to provide what people need and stay honest about what we can do. It’s a steady job and we like being part of the local farming community. We just keep things moving one customer at a time.
