Paithani Sarees

We've been here at Kala Maruti Chauk in Yewala for quite a while now. It’s a busy spot, especially on market days when the whole Taluka seems to descend on us. Nashik district gets pretty hot, and our shop is no exception, but we keep the fans going. Most days start with opening the shutters early before the sun gets too high. My grandfather used to say this corner was the heart of the cloth trade here, and it still feels that way sometimes. We spend a lot of time looking at threads and talking to weavers who come in from the nearby villages. It’s a bit messy inside with all the bundles stacked up, but we know where everything is. People stop by just to chat or ask for directions because everyone knows the Maruti temple nearby. Sometimes the dust from the road gets in, and we’re constantly wiping down the counters. It isn't fancy, just a regular place where work gets done. We mostly deal with the Paithani stuff that the town is famous for. You can hear the looms clicking if you walk down the back lanes. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who have been doing this for years. It's a simple life in Yewala, and we’re just part of the local scene here at the Chauk. We drink a lot of tea and try to get the orders right.
