It's quiet most days here at Eklahare, just outside Nasik Road. We've been around the NTPS colony for a while now, specifically at Old-D-20. Living and working in a thermal power station area changes how you see things. Everything is about keeping things running. Most of the people around here are connected to the plant one way or another, and we're no different. We just handle our bit of the work and go home. The weather gets pretty hot in the summer, which makes the work tougher, but that's just how it is in this part of Maharashtra. We don't have a big office with fancy lights. It’s just a practical space where we keep our tools and paperwork. Sometimes the dust from the coal or the noise from the plant is a bit much, but you get used to it after a year or two. We know the neighbors, and they know us. When someone needs something done, they usually just walk over or send a message. It’s not a complicated setup. We just wake up, see what needs fixing or moving, and get to it. Sometimes we run out of tea by noon, and someone has to walk down the road to get more. That’s just the daily routine at our spot in the colony. It’s simple work that keeps us busy through the week. We don't have many visitors, but the door is usually open for anyone from the area.
