N. K. Fabrication Works

Out here at Plot No. W12/C in the MIDC Ambad area, it stays pretty noisy most of the time. That is just the way it is when you run a place like N. K. Fabrication Works. We spend our days cutting metal and welding things together, so there is always the sound of machines humming or hammers hitting steel. The shop floor is wide and open, but it usually ends up cluttered with scrap metal and various projects we are working on. Being in an industrial zone means we are surrounded by other workshops, so there is a lot of back and forth with the neighbors. We often share tools or help each other out if a heavy load needs moving. It is hot work, especially in the summer when the tin roof picks up all that heat, but we just keep the big fans blowing. Our office is just a little corner with a wooden table where we keep the drawings and the checkbooks. It is not exactly comfortable, but we are not in there much anyway. Most of the time we are out on the floor with our hands dirty. We have been at this location for years and we know all the delivery drivers by name. It is a straightforward life of making things and making sure they are built to last. We do not go in for any of that fancy business talk, we just get the metalwork done.
