Madhavbaug Clinic

Our clinic, Madhavbaug Clinic, is up on the first floor of Sahyadri Apartment. It’s right there in Bhiwandi, specifically around the Shivaji Chauk area. If you’ve spent any time in Kasar Ali, you know it’s a packed part of town. The stairs up to the first floor are a bit narrow, so you have to watch your step when you are coming up. Being in Bhiwandi means there is always noise from the street below, especially with all the trucks and rickshaws moving through the Chauk. Sahyadri Apartment is one of those buildings that has seen a lot of years, but it’s sturdy enough. From our windows on the first floor, I can see the crowd moving around the junction. It’s a lot of activity every single day. I usually spend my morning getting the folders ready and making sure the water filter is filled up. Kasar Ali has its own rhythm, and we’ve become a small part of that over time. The office itself is simple. We don't have any big signs or flashing lights, just our name on the door. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons, so the fans are always running at full speed. Sometimes the electricity flickers, but that’s just Bhiwandi for you. We keep a few old magazines on the table for anyone waiting. It’s a very local kind of place where everyone sort of knows the regulars passing by. The floor is a bit uneven, but nobody seems to mind.
