You can find us over at Tidake Nagar in Untwadi. We work out of a row house, specifically number 13 in the Jayshriram A section. It’s a residential-feeling area which is nice when we are waiting for calls. We have our ambulances stationed here and we spend a lot of time maintaining the vans. The row house setup is simple and we use the space to keep our gear organized. Untwadi has its own pace, and we fit right into the neighborhood. When someone calls because they need a ride to the clinic or a hospital, we head out from Tidake Nagar and find the quickest way through the traffic. It’s mostly about knowing the shortcuts and which roads are blocked. We see all kinds of situations. Sometimes it’s an elderly neighbor who needs a hand and sometimes it’s something more urgent from across town. We don't do much fancy talking; we just show up and do the lifting and the driving. The row house is our main base where we keep our logs and take our breaks. It’s a practical way to run an ambulance service. We’ve gotten used to the quiet moments in the house before the phone rings and we have to get moving again. Every day is different depending on who needs help in the local area or further out. We just focus on getting the vehicle to the door as fast as we can.
