Our place is located over at K-11 in the MIDC area of Ambad. If you know Nashik, you know this part of town is full of factories and warehouses, so it is always noisy with trucks and machines passing by. Electronic Switches (I) Pvt.Ltd. has been running out of this unit for a long time. We spend our days dealing with switch components and getting orders packed up for shipping. It isn’t a very exciting job, but we’ve been doing it long enough that we know the routine well. The floor of the unit gets pretty dusty because of all the industrial work going on around us, but we try to sweep it out every morning. We have a small team here and everyone just gets on with their tasks without needing much direction. Usually, we get started early before the sun really starts hitting the metal roof. By the time lunch rolls around, the little food stalls down the road are always packed with workers from the nearby units. Our space isn't huge, so we have to be careful about where we stack the crates. Sometimes the old machines we use act up, and we have to spend a few hours getting them back in order. We don't have a fancy office or anyone to answer the phones. If you come by, you just have to shout to get our attention over the noise. It’s a practical way to work and it keeps us going.
