We don't have a big sign out front or a lobby with a receptionist. It’s just a room where we keep our files and meet up. Most of us have other things going on, so we come here when there is work to be done for the foundation. We started this because we saw things in the colony and the surrounding areas that needed attention. It’s all very local and down-to-earth. We don't use big words or fancy titles. We are just neighbors helping neighbors. Sometimes the room gets a bit stuffy, so we take our meetings outside. We don't have a lot of funding, but we make every bit count. We don't need a website with professional photos to show what we do. The work speaks for itself when someone gets the help they were looking for. We deal with various welfare issues, mostly just handling things as they come up. It’s not always perfectly organized, but the heart is there. We just keep moving forward, one small task at a time, trying to keep things going for everyone in the community. It’s not fancy, but it is real and it is what we do.
