Dr Shyam Chaudhari Children Hospital

Down here at Trimurti Chowk in Cidco, things are rarely quiet. Since it’s a children’s hospital, you can imagine the kind of noise we deal with every day. There’s always a baby crying in one corner or a toddler running around the waiting area while their parents try to keep them still. Dr. Shyam Chaudhari is usually back and forth between the cabins, trying to keep up with the walk-ins. The walls have some old stickers of cartoons that are starting to peel at the edges, but the kids seem to like looking at them anyway. The building itself is easy to find once you get to the chowk, though parking can be a bit of a headache during the peak hours. We’ve got a small staff, mostly people from the Cidco area who have been working here long enough to know how to handle a fussy child. It’s a lot of work, and some days feel longer than others, especially when the waiting room is packed and the thermometer is getting a workout. We don’t have those fancy automated systems you see in the big city hospitals; we still use a lot of paper and ink. Sometimes the power goes out for a minute and we have to wait for the backup to kick in, but we manage. It’s just a regular place where local families bring their kids when they’re under the weather or need a checkup. This is just our daily life at the hospital.
