The sound of kids jumping around is something we hear all day at Pune Vidyarthi Griha. We’ve got the mats spread out on Dindori Road and it’s always a bit of a scramble when a new class starts. It’s not a quiet place by any means. There is always someone trying to learn a handstand or falling over. We spend a lot of time cleaning the equipment and making sure the chalk doesn't get everywhere, though it always does. Parents sit on the side and watch while we try to keep everyone moving. Some days are better than others, especially when it’s hot outside and the fans are barely doing anything. We’ve been around this part of town for a bit and people know where to find us. It’s about getting kids off their phones and moving their bodies. We don’t have anything fancy, just the basic stuff you need to get strong. Sometimes the floor gets a bit worn out from all the running, but that’s just how it is when you’re busy. We keep the schedule on a board near the door. It’s a lot of work keeping track of everyone, but it’s nice to see them get better at their flips. Dindori Road is a busy spot, so there’s always noise from the street mixing with the shouts inside. We just show up and do the work every day. It is a noisy, happy place to be.
