Balyatra Toy Shop

Our little shop is located in the Neelchandra building over in Indiranagar, and it’s usually pretty easy to spot because of the colorful things we keep near the entrance. We have been selling toys here for a while now, and the shelves are always overflowing with dolls, cars, and board games that we try our best to keep organized. It can be a bit of a mess honestly, especially on Saturday afternoons when parents bring their kids in and things get moved around from one aisle to another. We spend a lot of time putting things back in their boxes or making sure the puzzles still have all their pieces. The space isn't huge, so we have to use every bit of wall space, stacking things right up to the ceiling sometimes. You can hear the sounds of the neighborhood outside, but inside it’s mostly just the squeak of plastic toys or the sound of someone trying out a new bell. We know most of the families who live nearby because they’ve been coming to us since their kids were tiny. It’s a nice way to spend the day, surrounded by stuff that is meant for fun, even if the floor needs sweeping every couple of hours because of the dirt people bring in from the street. We don’t really do anything fancy here, we just keep the shop open and hope people find something they like.
