Ayers Spices

You can find Ayers Spices over on Gangapur Road in the Makhanwala Bad area. We are quite close to Deepali Nagar. The shop is right on the main road, so there is always a lot of dust and noise from the passing cars and bikes. We have a small storefront where we keep various spices in glass jars and containers. It is a bit of a tight squeeze inside because we try to stock as much as possible. I usually stand by the counter near the door. The sun hits the front of the shop in the morning, so it gets bright. We don't have any professional decorators; the shelves are just things we put up ourselves over the years. We get a mix of people coming in—some are locals from the nearby houses and some are just passing through on their way somewhere else. We spend time refilling the jars and making sure the labels are still readable. It is a one-man show most of the time, though my wife helps out when I have to go pick up new stock. We don't have any big slogans. We just sell spices to whoever walks in the door. The floor needs a lot of cleaning because of the road salt and dirt. It is a simple life and we just stay here and keep things going like everyone else does. We just keep the door open and wait for customers to come in for their monthly supplies of spices.
