Shyam Tiles

Down on Railway Road in Jind, that’s where you will find Shyam Tiles. It is a busy street with the trains nearby, but we like the energy of it. We have been working with tiles for a long time now. It’s a family thing, mostly. We spend our days moving crates and showing people the different patterns we have in stock. The shop isn't very large, but we pack a lot into it. You can usually hear the sound of the station while we are working. We don't use any complicated sales talk here. We just show you what we have and tell you how it wears over time. Some of the older tiles we used to carry aren't made anymore, so we keep updating what’s in the racks. It’s a lot of heavy lifting, but we are used to it by now. The floor of the shop is always covered in a bit of grit from the road. We try to keep it tidy, but with people coming in and out all day, it’s a bit of a losing battle. We know most of the contractors around Jind. They drop in for a tea and to see what arrived on the last truck. We just try to keep enough stock so people don't have to wait too long. It is just a simple business on a dusty road, and that suits us just fine. We like being a part of the local building community here.
