Sammaiah Chicken Center

The mornings start early here at Sammaiah Chicken Center. We are located at H. No -2-28/1 in Muthojipet. By the time the sun is up, we are already getting things ready for the day. It’s a local spot where people from the neighborhood come to get what they need for their meals. The shop is simple, with tiled walls and a few heavy wooden blocks for cutting. We don't have any fancy displays. You just see the birds and the work being done. There’s a lot of cleaning involved, so the floors are usually wet from being hosed down. It’s a messy job, but someone has to do it. We talk to the regulars about the weather or local news while we work. The sound of knives hitting the wood is the main soundtrack of our day. Muthojipet is a place where everyone seems to know each other, so we get a lot of familiar faces. We don't really have a business plan or anything like that. We just open up, serve the customers, and close when we’re done. Some days are busier than others, especially on Sundays when everyone is cooking a big lunch. We just keep the knives sharp and the bins empty. It’s a basic life, but it works for us and keeps the neighborhood fed.
