Narsaiah Farming

Our house is H. No -1-47 in Dasaripally, which is part of the Narsampet area. This is where Narsaiah Farming happens. It is not a big office or anything like that, just our home and the land we work on. Every morning starts quite early before the sun gets too hot. We have the usual tools sitting in the shed and the seeds kept dry inside. The soil around here in Dasaripally changes quite a bit depending on how much rain we get. Some years are good and the crops grow tall without much trouble. Other years we have to spend more time checking the water levels and making sure nothing is eating the leaves. We grow what the season allows and try to keep things simple. Dealing with the weather is the main part of the job really. You can see the fields from the front porch. People from the village often stop by to talk about the market prices or just to have some water. We do not have fancy machinery, just the basic stuff that works for our size of land. It is hard work and your hands stay dirty most of the day, but that is just part of living in Narsampet. We keep the records in a small notebook on the kitchen table. It is a quiet life out here and we just keep doing what needs to be done on the farm. We have lived here for many years now.
