Out here in Dediapada, life is pretty quiet and follows the rhythm of the seasons. Shri Girivar Uttar Buniyadi Vidhyalaya is one of those places that has stayed the same for a long time. We are in the Narmada district, where the surroundings are mostly rural. The school follows the Buniyadi style, which means things are kept very practical and down-to-earth. The building is a single-story structure with a tiled roof that sometimes leaks a bit when the monsoon is heavy. We have a courtyard where everyone gathers in the morning. The desks are worn down from years of use, and the walls have some cracks, but it’s a sturdy place. We don't have a lot of modern technology, so we rely on books and talking to each other. People in Dediapada know us as a reliable spot for the older kids to finish their schooling. It’s a very plain existence, focused on the daily lessons and making sure the school stays open and welcoming for the local community.
