Community Action & Campaign Foundation

At Community Action & Campaign Foundation, we are up on the floor of 97, Narmada Apartments. This is in Alaknanda, which stays pretty busy most of the time. We are right in the middle of the apartment complex, so we hear the neighbors and the kids playing outside. It’s a good spot because we are right where the people are. Our office is basically just a few rooms converted for our campaigns. We have posters leaning against the walls and stacks of flyers that need to go out. It’s a bit messy, to be honest. We aren’t the type to have everything perfectly filed away. We are usually too busy talking to folks or planning the next action. It’s a lot of phone calls and meeting people at the local tea stalls. Narmada Apartments is a solid old building. It has character, even if the lift is a bit moody sometimes. We started this foundation because we wanted to see more action on the ground. We don’t bother with big speeches. We just look at what the community needs and try to get a campaign going for it. It takes a lot of energy, but being in Alaknanda keeps us motivated. There is always something happening right outside our window. It’s a lively place to work and we wouldn't want to be anywhere else. We just keep plugging away at the daily tasks and talking to the locals.
