Gayatry Bricks

We are located in Ward No. 2 over in the Nagpur district. This has been our spot for a long time now. Making bricks is not the easiest job in the world. It is mostly about working with mud and heat and hoping the rain stays away. If it gets too wet, everything has to stop and we just wait. Most of our day is spent out in the yard. It gets very dusty, especially when the big trucks come in to load up the bricks. We aren't a large company with a big office. It’s just the kilns and the stacks of bricks out in the open. Sometimes it’s hard to find enough people to help with the heavy lifting, but we make it work. My family has lived in this area for a long time. People from around the ward come by when they are building something new or fixing a wall. We don't have a website with fancy pictures. What you see when you walk in is exactly what we are. The ground here is good for making bricks, which is why we’re here. Nagpur gets incredibly hot in the summer, which usually helps the bricks dry faster. We don't spend money on advertising. Word just gets around from one person to another. It’s a simple way of doing things. We start early when it’s still cool. By evening, everyone is tired and dusty. It’s just the way it goes. Nothing fancy, just bricks.
