Madhugram Mahila Producer Company Limited

In Bhagwanpur village, specifically the Pakri area of Laxmi Narayanpur, we have the Madhugram Mahila Producer Company Limited. We use Mukesh Kumar’s place as our base of operations. He’s the son of Saryug Thakur, and many of us have known the family for years. This company is mostly about the women in our community getting together to manage our produce. Because it is a producer company, we all have a stake in it and a say in how things go. We started it because we wanted to have more control over how our goods are sold and to make sure the work we do in the fields and at home actually pays off. It’s not a fancy office. We usually meet up and discuss what needs to be done for the next season. There's a lot of talk about costs and where to find the best buyers. We’re just regular people from the village, so we don't use any big business words. We’re more concerned with whether the harvest is good and if everyone is getting their fair share. It can be a struggle balancing the house work with the company work, but we manage. We aren't trying to be a corporate giant. We just want to improve things for the families here in Madhugram. Sometimes we disagree on how to do things, but we always figure it out. It’s about being practical and helping each other out in a way that makes sense for our village.
