About Babul Vegatablr Shop – Food & Beverages in Narayanapur
I run this vegetable shop at 1-157/1 in Puttapaka. Every morning I have to get up very early, way before the sun is up, to get the fresh stock. Narayanpur area is where I usually go to get the crates. The shop is small and has wooden crates piled up. I try to stack the tomatoes so they don't get squashed. People from the village come by as they go to work. We have greens, onions, and whatever is in season. Sometimes the spinach wilts fast if it's too hot, so I keep splashing water on it. It’s a lot of lifting and carrying. My hands always smell like coriander and earth. I don't have a big sign, just the vegetables out front. Some days are slow and I just sit on the stool and watch the road. Other days, everyone comes at once and it gets crowded. I use a manual scale, the old kind with weights. It’s more reliable than the battery ones that die on you. I grew up here, so I know who likes their chilies extra hot. We talk about the rain or why the prices went up at the big market. It’s just a regular shop for regular people. I close up when the sun goes down and head home. It’s not a big business, just me selling what grows around here at Babul Vegatablr Shop. Sometimes the kids from school stop by for a piece of fruit. I like the noise of the village.
