Vignan High School

Vignan High School is located in Nehru Nagar, which is part of the Macherla area in Narasaraopet. It is a fairly quiet part of town, which makes it a good spot for a school. We have a simple building with a gated entrance where parents wait in the afternoons. Inside, the walls are painted in plain colors and we have a few charts and student drawings pinned up in the corridors. The classrooms are basic, with rows of desks and a chair for the teacher. We do not have any high-tech gadgets or fancy lounges. It is just a regular school where kids come to learn their lessons. There is a small area for play, though it gets a bit muddy when the monsoon rains hit Narasaraopet. Our teachers are mostly from around here and they have been teaching the local children for quite a long time. They know which kids are brothers and sisters and who lives on which street. The mornings are usually a bit chaotic when everyone is arriving, but once the first bell rings, things settle down into a routine. During the lunch break, you can hear the sound of tiffin boxes opening and children talking all at once. We do not try to be anything we are not. We just provide a place for the kids in Nehru Nagar to go to school every day. It is a simple operation and we like it that way.
