Lakshmi Venkateswara Stores is at 5-3-14 2/2 in Macherla. We are very close to the bus stand, so we get a lot of people coming in and out all day. It’s a good spot because there’s always someone passing by. We aren't a big supermarket, just a local store where we keep things people need for their daily meals. Narasaraopet is a bit of a drive from here, but many people travel between the two. The shop is often crowded with crates and bags. It’s not the most organized place, but we know where everything is. We started this store years ago with just a few shelves. Now we have a bit more, but it’s still a small operation run by our family. We don't use a computer for the billing, we just write it down or remember the prices. Sometimes we have long chats with the customers who are waiting for their bus. It makes the day interesting. We don't have a mission statement or any of that. We just open the doors in the morning and close them when it’s late. Sometimes the stock arrives late and we have to wait around, which is annoying but part of the job. We just try to be helpful to the people who live around here. It’s a simple business and we’ve been doing it this way for a long time. There isn't much more to it than that.
