We deal with bones and joints for the most part. People come in limping or maybe with their arms in a sling, and we do what we can to help them get back on their feet. The clinic itself is not very large, but it serves its purpose well enough for us. We have some wooden benches for people to sit on while they wait and a small desk where we keep all the paper files. Being in Mysore means that things tend to move a little bit slower than they do in the bigger cities, which is something we actually prefer. We know a lot of the people who walk through the door by their names. It is a very practical and basic setup. We do not have a lot of expensive decorations or extra things. We just stay focused on the orthopedic work that needs doing. Some days it gets quite dusty outside if there is any roadwork happening, but we do our best to keep the inside clean for everyone. We spend our time looking at x-rays and talking to people about their recovery process. It can be quite tiring, especially on days when the waiting room is full, but we just take it one person at a time.
