Moulana Azad School is situated in Chagalamarri, right near the Sivalayam temple. You can often hear the temple bells ringing during the day, which is quite nice when things are quiet in the classrooms. The school is a simple building that has been part of the neighborhood for quite some time. We have a courtyard where the students gather every morning before the classes start. It gets quite hot in Chagalamarri, so we have to keep the windows open to let the air in. The classrooms are basic, with old-fashioned desks and a lot of chalk dust on the floors. We don't have a lot of modern equipment, so we rely on books and what the teachers write on the boards. Most of the children here come from families who have lived in this area for generations. During the breaks, the kids play in the open space, and it gets quite loud with all the shouting and laughing. The teachers are dedicated to their work and spend a lot of time helping the students who are struggling with their lessons. It’s just a normal, everyday school where we try to do our best with what we have. There’s nothing particularly special about the building itself, but it’s a place where the community feels comfortable sending their children. We just take things one day at a time and follow the school calendar as it is.
