Ramnarayan & Sons

Our place, Ramnarayan & Sons, is right on Tilak Road. It is one of those streets that never seems to go quiet, even late in the evening. We open the shutters early because the morning air is better before the dust picks up from all the vehicles passing by. The building is older, with high ceilings that help when it gets hot in the afternoons. Inside, it is mostly shelves and the smell of old paper and whatever goods we have in stock that week. We have been working together as a family here for a long time. My sons are usually handling the heavy stuff while I sit near the front. We know most of the people who walk past every day. It is a simple setup with a couple of wooden chairs for anyone who needs to wait. We don't spend much on decorating because we are usually too busy sorting out orders. The phone rings a lot, and someone is always looking for a specific item we tucked away in the back months ago. We keep the ledger by the window where the light is better. It is a routine that works for us. We don't try to be anything we aren't. Just a local spot on a busy road where things get done eventually. The old fan wobbles a bit on the ceiling but it still works fine enough for us.
